Who We Are.
Hohmann Community Services Initiative is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization (Tax ID #81 - 4402740), incorporated in 2016 whose mission is to support and strengthen the capabilities of poor and low income groups so that they are able to access basic human services.
The organization is based in Bothell, Washington State.
Our activities include supporting and strengthening poor and low income community groups so that they access employment, affordable education, affordable housing, health care services and all social benefits. We achieve our goal by providing the following: - Community networking centers, basic job skills training, employment linkage and referral, supporting and empowering people with disabilities, supporting children from poor and low income families with books and educational materials, providing free tax preparation & benefits application support, providing English as a Second Language (ESL) classes, counseling referral and information dissemination.

Joyce K. Mwangi has a Master of Arts in Cultural Studies degree from the University of Washington, Bothell, and has over 17 years’ experience working with nonprofits in Africa and the United States. Joyce has skills in nonprofit management, child rights and protection, in the development and execution of strategic plans and in the development and management of programs that target poor and vulnerable groups. Joyce is the President and Executive Director of Hohmann Community Services Initiative.
Judy Gratton has been a Realtor with John L Scott Real Estate for the past 21 years. As such, she has enjoyed helping people in the community reach their dreams and goals. Judy has also been involved with the Lions Club organization as both charter secretary and President of the Bothell club, and currently as a member of the Woodinville club. She also enjoys volunteering for Snohomish County Cocoon House which provides services for homeless youth and their families. She believes that every person deserves an opportunity to enjoy a full and productive life and contribute to the community they live in. Judy is the Vice-President of Hohmann Community Services Initiative.
Mark Tiemens grew up in Seattle Washington and attended Western Washington University. Mark has worked for local employers as a property manager in Seattle for many years. As a lifelong resident of King County Mark understands the issues that impact the community and how those issues affect poor and low income people and their families. Mark is the organization’s Secretary.
Patrick L. Daly was born in Washington and raised in the Alderwood and Bothell area. Patrick traces his maternal family name Hohmann, to Bothell since the 1890s. Patrick is therefore, familiar with the community and is passionate about supporting the issues affecting poor and low income People and families. Patrick has worked in management roles with employers in King County and the Seattle area for many years and is a co-founder of Hohmann Community Services Initiative.
Robert N. Waire is finalizing a Master of Science (Technology) in Information Security and Cryptography degree at the University of Turku, Finland. He is currently researching on his Master’s thesis titled "The Security Implications of Android OS Remote Wiping Tools". Robert has experience in ICT management, Network and Systems Administration and has worked in the retail and financial services sector. He is a co-founder of Hohmann Community Services Initiative.
Jim Gratton holds a Bachelor's Degree in Journalism but has spent the bulk of his career in the wine business in the Pacific Northwest. Based in the Seattle area, he has worked for beverage distributors, wine importers, and is currently national sales manager for a boutique Washington winery. Jim is involved in community development in Bothell and has been actively supporting the activities of the local Lions Club. Jim is a Director of Hohmann Community Services Initiative.
